The cutest DC Super Heroes movie you will ever see!
Lego Batman: The Movie- DC Super Heroes Unite is based on the popular video game, Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. A successful franchise with a great movie adaptation. The plot of the movie is exactly the same as the game it’s based on, so if you played the game already, you might be bored with watching this movie. Or maybe not if you are the type of person who likes things second time around. I never fully played the game before, so I’m able the watch the movie with a fresh state of mind.
The movie is about Lex Luther running for president, and he wants to work together with Joker to help him with a scheme to win the election, and get rid off Batman and Superman once and for all.
The characters are constructed perfectly for the world of Lego. Everyone is adorable, and funny in their own way, and at the same time, retain the characteristics of their original counterpart. Like Batman, for example, stubborn and serious like his comic character. He’s unwilling to receive help from others, but at the end, he has no choice but to team up with Superman and the rest of the Justice League to take down the team-up between Lex Luther and Joker.
It’s cool to see that the movie fully takes the advantages of the world of Lego. The main plot involves Luther having a devices that takes away the” black bricks” and weakens the structures. Something that all Lego fans should know what it means. A wonderful decision by whoever wrote the story, otherwise it would be no point to set the movie in the world of Lego. Also, I really like the gags the movie have about Lego. For example, there’s a scene where Batman and Superman switch their identities by switching hair and body. Something that only Lego characters can do.
I really like the movie’s choice to use original scores from Batman and Superman live action movies. It allows the movie the be more authentic when the classic Danny Elfman Batman theme can be heard. I really enjoy it.
Since the movie follows the exact same plot as the video game, it obviously slows down the movie. The plot of the movie is meant for players to interact with them during down time, but when it’s a movie, it’s just slow. While the movie is still entertaining, I can’t help it but feel bored at times when watching the movie. But since the movie is meant for kids, I’m sure it serves the purposes just fine.
The movie is great for kids, but might not be as sophisticated for adults. Overall, it’s still a great movie for everyone to enjoy, and I highly recommend it. Beside, buying the Blu-rad also gives you an awesome limited edition Clark Kent/Superman Lego figure.
