Comic Review 8-14-2013

Justice League of America issue 7, The Walking Dead issue 113, and Wolverine and the X-Men issue 34.

Justice League of America issue 7.  After two weeks of absent, Trinity War is finally back.  However, the event kind of looses its steam, and it’s all over the place.

All the heroes are grouped differently, and their motives are not clear.  Who all know what the “Big 3” want individually, but can we go deeper with the individual members?  The characters that are following the Big 3 deserved to be understand better.  Especially members of Wonder Woman’s team.  None of these members show any reason or belief to follow Wonder Woman other than their respect for her.  Well, good luck with that, cause I don’t think she’s thinking straight but with her feelings now.

Since we already know Forever Evil has Lex Luthor as the main protagonist, it’s not a shocker to see his involvement starting this issue.  I don’t know what he plans to do with the whole situation so far, but I don’t think he’s going to be happy after seeing what the box might have done to him.

With only two chapters left, I wonder where the story is going to go.  With the reveal last week of the involvement of certain team, I wonder how the story is going to unfold into that with only two issues left.  Two more weeks to go and we will find out.

The Walking Dead issue 113.  Kirkman has done the wonderful job this issue putting us on the edge of the next possible death of our main characters.  Andrea’s fight with the Saviors man is nerve wrecking, and I thought she was going to bite the dust if I don’t any better.  Seriously though, I’m going to stop reading, or looking at spoiler images now.

Anyway, the thing Andrea says about how they don’t die is ominous.  This further makes me believe that something major is going to happen in the upcoming All Out War event.  I have a feeling that either Andrea, Michonne or even Carl might die.

Negan is still want of the craziest villain in the Walking Dead series.  However, recently he’s all talk and no walk.  While I hope none of our characters have to bite the dust, I can’t help but feel unrealistic that Rick is not dead yet.  Negan needs to be up with his games, or he’s starting to seem lazy.

All Out War begins in October, and there’s only one issue left.  I really can’t wait to see how Rick is going to get out of the situation.  Also, good job Mr. Kirkman on making Walking Dead comic interesting again.

Wolverine and the X-Men issue 34.  I’m not a big fan with the Hellfire Saga, but this issue really picks up.  The X-Men finally found where Hellfire academy is, and they’re invading in full throttle.  An exciting all out battle between the two schools, and there are plenty of funny jokes during the fights.

The giant Ice-Voltron is awesome!  I don’t care if that make sense with Iceman’s power or not, it’s just too makes me want to cry with joy.  Doop is also in the action as well with his secret home tape.  That’s just too funny.

Other than all the battles, the highlight of the issue is the conflict between the Hellfire Club members.  They’re beginning to notice that their Black King is not fit for leader anymore, and they pull a gun on him.  It would be really awesome if they kill him off next issue, but somehow I doubt it.

Final chapter of this event.  Can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next.
