Batman: The Dark Knight #23.2: Mr. Freeze Review

mrfreezeMr. Freeze, you sick bastard.

I always wonder why Mr. Freeze is in Arkham Asylum.  He’s not psychotic, and if anything, he’s just a super villains who wants to save his wife, so the most he should be in Blackgate.  It turns out, DC hears my question, and answers with the new 52 revamp of the character- Mr. Freeze is in Arkham because he’s a sick mofo with an obsession for his mother.

We already seen most of Mr. Freeze origin in Batman Annual #1, but this issue digs deeper into that.  Freeze finds out that his deadbeat father has a second family, and it doesn’t turn out great for them at all.  The story is brutal and gory.  While we can see the ending miles away, it doesn’t stop the shock we received.

Mr. Freeze’s love story is always one of my favorite story ever.  While it’s sad to see DC took that away, I can’t help it but admit that this is a great approach as well.  Can’t wait to see what else is in store with this character.
