Batman: The Dark Knight #23.4: Joker’s Daughter Review

Why do I care who Joker’s Daughter is?

Okay, I’m not going to lie, I was really looking forward to this issue.  When I first heard about the character making a debut in New 52, I really though that she’s what Harper Row is going to become.  At first I was disappoint that it wasn’t the case, but then I’m glad it wasn’t.  The issue is horrible, and there’s nothing redeemable about it.  The book is a mess.

The book reintroduce Duela into the world of New 52, and it’s horrible.  The character no longer has anything to do with Harvey Dent(that we known of), and she shares the delusional tendency as The Ventriloquist.  Well, it might work for The Ventriloquist, but it doesn’t mean it will work for Joker’s Daughter.

The story is so stupid, too.  People starting to believe Duela is the real Joker just because she has Joker’s face on.  Really?  People are that stupid?

I didn’t even know how the book can be this stupid until I noticed that it’s written by Ann Nocenti.  You know how I hate Scott Lobdell?  Well, Ann Nocenti is just as horrible as him.  A crazy bitch finding Joker’s face and wears it for no reason is not a good origin story at all.

I don’t know why I still bother with the review.  The whole book is a disaster and everyone should just stay away from it.

Meanwhile, I really wonder why Harper Row is introduced if she’s not Joker’s Daughter.  I doubt she will be the new Robin, so maybe new Batgirl?
