Forever Evil: A.R.G.U.S. #1 Review

The heroic tales of Steve Trevor.

Out of all the Forever Evil stand-alone series, Forever Evil: A.R.G.U.S. is perhaps the weakest one.  Forever Evil: Arkham War features villains we all loved and familiar with, and Forever Evil: Rogues’ Rebellion features the ever popular Rogues.  Who’s in A.R.G.U.S. that we care about?  Amanda Waller?  Nah.  Steve Trevor?  Nah.  Well, it turns out that the series might not be as bad as I expected, but I still don’t have high hopes for it.

The issue is basically Steve Trevor’s origin.  We see him crushing on Paradise Island, meeting Wonder Woman, and eventually become the founder of A.R.G.U.S.  It’s something that we all already and nothing new.  However, I guess it’s great that we got confirmation that Steve’s history is pretty much the same as before New 52.

Etta Candy has proven to be an interesting character.  She has some handy gadgets, and she’s very helpful to Steve.  I hope to see the more of her, and the character to stay interesting.

So far I don’t have much hope for this new mini-series, but I’m willing to give it another try.  You have one more chance to convince me.  Time to prove you’re a hero, Steve.
