Wolverine and the X-Men #42 Review

It’s graduation day.

This is the final issue on Jason Aaron’s run on Wolverine and the X-Men, and it’s soon going to relaunch into a new series with new creative team.  It’s sad to see Aaron leaving the series, but the ending is a satisfying one that gives us hope with future stories.

The issue deals with the present story, and what’s going to happen in the future.  We see a lot of students graduating in this issue, and most importantly Quentin Quire.  He’s also the center of the focus when comes to the students in the Jean-Grey School, and it surely is a shock seeing a troubled teen like that able to graduate.  It’s great seeing him troubled with himself graduating.  Oh well, deal with it Quentin, and congratulation.

Meanwhile in the future, Wolverine is planning on closing the school, and we get a glimpse of who are the members of future X-Men.  It also hinted that Kid Apocalypse might actually grow up to be Apocalypse.  It’s something I know i’m going to look forward to.

Not every story is tied up in the issue, and that’s great because we get to see them in the Wolverine and the X-Men relaunch.  There are plenty more stories to tell, and hopefully the new creative team doesn’t disappoint.
